Digestive Tea Blend

This is one of our favorite homemade tea blend. It is delicate, aromatic and very soothing.


Ingredients:

2 tbsp coriander seeds

1 tbsp cumin seeds

1 1/2 tsp fennel seeds

1 tsp carom seeds

1/2 tsp peppercorns

6 pods of green cardamom or 1/2 to 1 tsp green cardamom powder

1 tsp dry ginger powder


Procedure:

1. Dry roast all the seeds, except green cardamom pods in a flat bottomed pan on medium flame to low flame - (lightly roast until it releases aroma and turns slightly golden - please ensure the seeds do not turn dark else they get bitter)

2. Let the mix cool. Now, coarsely grind them all together along with green cardamom (after peeling them from their shell) using a mortar and pestle or you can pulse them in a blender.

3. Add dry ginger powder to the mix.

4. Once completely cooled, store the mix in an air tight jar.





How to use this:

  1. To make one cup of tea, add a tsp of the tea blend in a pot of boiling water and let it steep for two minutes.

  2. Strain and serve hot.
